Dear Reader,
Antibex was on the road again last month. We had tremendous success with our exhibits at the Ontario Massage Trade Conference 2009 in Burlington, Ontario and at the Discharge & Beyond 2009 9th Annual Spinal Cord & Neutrotrauma Conference, also held in Burlington. As a result of these conferences, we are happy to announce that Antibex has expanded its market to include Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Massage Therapists.
Software Update: As HCAI launches its initial pilot phase, Antibex Software is completing integration of recent HCAI changes and will launch its update in the next few months.
An Invitation: We are always looking for the latest news in our industries and we welcome contributors to this newsletter. Please submit your article for review to info@antibex.com.
CORRECTION: In an article in our August newsletter titled, "Ontario's Tax Increase Will Deter Patients", we wrote that health care service providers would be affected by the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). In fact chiropractors, physiotherapists, optometrists, dentists and doctors will not be affected by the HST since they are exempt from both GST and PST. However, massage therapists will be affected by the tax.
Also, the HST will apply to those who sell more than $30,000 worth of goods (like orthotics or equipment).
We apologize for any confusion about this issue.
