One-of-a-kind Overnight Occupational Therapy

Most people would expect the halls of a nursing home to be empty at 2 AM. But this is not the case at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale, where the staff has introduced a night care program for patients with dementia. This unusual program for the elderly runs from dusk to dawn, and it has given many grateful caregivers a much-needed night of sleep.

Customized Car Insurance Encourages Safe Driving

How does an insurance company increase its profits while lowering its rates and premiums? By attracting the safest drivers using a special insurance plan. This is the idea behind the insurance plan called Autograph, which is offered by Aviva Canada - one of the largest property and casualty insurance groups in Canada. Stretching Does Not Prevent Muscle Soreness

Many people stretch before and after physical activities in order to minimize soreness. But contrary to popular belief, stretching has no effect on muscle soreness. Two independent reports released in 2003 and 2007 reviewed studies focusing on the effect of stretching on muscle soreness, and both concluded that stretching does not prevent muscle soreness.

Why Patients Don't Adhere To Treatment Programs

Have you had patients who failed to recover from their injury for no obvious medical reason? It is possible that their treatment program was inappropriate, but it is also very likely that the patient failed to adhere to the prescribed program as desired. Over half of physiotherapy patients do not adhere to their treatments. This article will address the reasons why this happens, and what you can do about it.

Ontario's Tax Increase Will Deter Patients

Beginning July 1, 2010, Ontario will become the fifth province to unify GST and PST into one 13 percent entity, known as Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). This means a huge increase in tax from purely 5% GST to 13% HST for many goods and services, including the services of massage therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals in Ontario.
